Director and Special Representative on Youth and Social Inclusion at the International Labor Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. Charles Dan is the Special Representative of the International Labour Organization (ILO) on Youth and Social Inclusion since May 2013.
Prior to this appointment, Charles Dan was Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Africa of the ILO (2008 – 2013).
He was Senior Adviser to the ILO Director-General (1999-2008).
He was also Director of the ILO Preparatory Team for the African Union Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government on Employment and Poverty Alleviation (2003-2004).
His extensive international experience started with the International Organization of Employers (IOE) in Geneva in 1987.
Charles Dan is a Graduate of the Institute of Political Studies – Sciences Po Paris. He also holds a Diploma of Higher Studies in Public Law (University of Paris I Pantheon – La Sorbonne).
