Entrepreneur, innovation consultant and field blogger, Samir Abdelkrim is also the founder of StartupBRICS.com, the first French-language media specializing in innovation in emerging countries. Samir Abdelkrim spends 8 months a year exploring Africa’s business ecosystems (which he has already traveled to almost 20 countries), to meet the best startups on the continent. He connects the most promising entrepreneurs with investors and large groups, or they gain visibility in the major national titles like the Huffington Post, Les Echos or Le Monde where he is a Tech columnist specializing in African startups. From Senegal to Botswana via Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire, Madagascar or Kenya, Samir Abdelkrim has already met with a hundred startups as part of his #TECHAfrique project, a field experience and a human adventure to meet Those who make beat the pulse of Africa 2.0, experience from which he will draw a book in preparation, Startup Lions. It has just launched a participatory fundraising campaign to pre-sell this book and finance its self-publishing. Samir is a regular guest speaker at innovation conferences in Europe, the United States, Africa and the Middle East such as the South By SouthWest International Festival in Austin, the Aspen Institute, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, the New York Forum Africa, Bank of Lebanon Accelerate in Beirut and more recently at United Nations Headquarters.


StartupBRICS.com, founded in 2013, is the first blog in French 100% dedicated to news Tech, Innovation & Startups BRICS and emerging countries. StartupBRICS aims to provide French and French economic decision-makers with news, insights and analysis on the digital potential of tomorrow’s future economic champions. StartupBRICS is a “blog-tank”, anchored on the ground in the countries of the South. Its objectives are to identify opportunities, initiatives and to gather the stories of innovators in order to be able to communicate on these projects via the blog.
